She is a historian of Modern Italy and migration. Before working at UCL, she was a Senior Lecturer in Modern European History at Royal Holloway, University of London, and a Fulbright Scholar at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Among her most important publications are “Italian Futurism and the First World War“ (University of Toronto Press, 2016) and “Emigrant Soldiers: Mobilising Italians Abroad in the First World War and Beyond“ (Cambridge University Press, 2025). His research, under the supervision of Prof. Francesco Cassata (U. Genoa) and Prof. Manuela Consonni (Hebrew U.), is a microhistorical reconstruction of the work and thought of the Scuola di Mistica Fascista, a political, cultural, and pedagogical institute operating in the Italian Fascist Regime, 1930-1943.
